What does an AI admin assistant actually do?
It takes the repetitive document work — reading, naming, filing, noting dates, answering 'where is…' questions — off a person's desk. The useful ones show their working so you can check them.
In Torvane, every document that arrives is read in full, given a type (invoice, receipt, contract, insurance, tax, HR, letter…), renamed so the name says what it is, and filed into a department folder. Dates in it — payment due, expiry, renewal, notice — become reminders. You can then ask questions in plain English and get an answer that cites the document it came from.
Which admin work stays with a person?
Anything that needs judgement, a relationship or a decision about money. Torvane flags and reminds; people decide and act.
It does not pay invoices, send emails on your behalf, share files outside your organisation or delete anything on its own — deletion always needs an administrator's approval. It is not always right: when the evidence on the page is thin, it holds the document for you instead of guessing.
If you need someone to handle calls, diaries, customers or suppliers, you need a person — see Torvane vs hiring an admin assistant for an honest comparison.
How do I know it filed something correctly?
Every action is recorded with the reason for it, and anything it is not sure of goes to an Inbox for you to approve instead of being filed.
Its confidence comes from checks it can make — whether an independent reading of the text agrees with the AI's reading, whether the key fields are present, whether a scan is legible — not from the model's own opinion of itself. When you correct it, it can learn a narrow rule for that supplier, and tests the rule against other documents before using it.
How do documents get in?
You upload documents in the browser — PDFs, photos and scans, Word documents and text files — or connect a business mailbox so attachments are picked up.
