What does Torvane pick out of an invoice?
The supplier, the invoice number, the amounts, the dates and what kind of document it is. The payment due date becomes a reminder.
Where a due date is written as terms — 'payable within 14 days of the invoice date', 'Net 30' — it is worked out from the invoice date, and the sentence it came from is kept as evidence. Credit notes are filed with invoices.
How are invoices named and filed?
Each file is renamed to say who it is from, what it is and when — for example Northgate_Facilities_Invoice_NF-20417_2026-03.pdf — and filed under Finance.
You can move any document; the correction can become a rule for that supplier, so the next invoice from them lands where you put this one.
Does it catch duplicate invoices?
Yes. An identical copy is marked as a duplicate, and an invoice with the same supplier and number as one already on file is linked to it and flagged as a possible double payment, showing both totals.
What about scanned or photographed invoices?
They are read with optical character recognition, including pages scanned sideways or upside down. A page too poor to read is held for you rather than guessed at.
Does it pay or approve invoices?
No. It files, reminds and flags; paying and approving stay with you.
It does not pay invoices, send emails on your behalf, share files outside your organisation or delete anything on its own — deletion always needs an administrator's approval. It is not always right: when the evidence on the page is thin, it holds the document for you instead of guessing.
