RECEIPTS

Receipts from a photo to a filed record.

Receipt scanning turns a photo or scan of a till receipt into a named, searchable record. Torvane reads receipt photos you upload, files them under Receipts with the shop, date and total, and keeps the original image.

Is there a phone app?

No. Torvane is a web app that works in a phone's browser, so you upload a receipt photo from your phone the same way as from a computer.

It is built for keeping a business's receipts in order, not for cashback or rewards schemes.

What does it read from a receipt?

The shop or supplier, the date, the total and a reference where there is one. The photo itself is kept as the record.

Faded thermal receipts and blurred photos are the hardest case for any reader. When the text cannot be read reliably, the receipt goes to your Inbox rather than being filed with guessed details.

How long should I keep receipts?

For a limited company, generally 6 years from the end of the financial year they relate to; for sole traders, at least 5 years after the 31 January Self Assessment deadline.
