RENEWALS & DEADLINES

The notice date is the one that matters.

Contract renewal tracking means knowing, for every contract, when it ends, whether it renews automatically, and the last date you can give notice. Torvane reads those dates from the documents themselves and reminds you before each one, with the sentence it came from.

Which dates does Torvane track?

Payment due dates, expiry dates, renewal dates and notice deadlines. Signing and issue dates are recorded too, but never become reminders — they are history, not work.

Why do notice periods catch businesses out?

Because the date that matters is not the renewal date but the last day to say no — often months earlier. Torvane types that date as a notice deadline.

Where a contract says 'at least 60 days before the renewal date' rather than giving a date, the notice deadline is worked out from the renewal date, and the sentence it came from is shown so you can check it.

Can I add or dismiss a deadline myself?

Yes. You can add a deadline to any document, acknowledge one, mark it done or dismiss a wrong one. Every change is recorded.

What if I'd rather use a spreadsheet?

A spreadsheet works if someone keeps it up to date. The guide shows how to set one up and where it tends to fail.
